The WLSS programs are designed to teach age appropriate sailing skills both in classroom and on the water settings. These programs use a variety of practical hands on activities and experiences using sailing school boats. Students can also use their own boats during lessons. We offer programs for ages 6-adult, who are interested in learning how to sail or improve their sailing skills. All students must pass a swim test that includes prolonged treading water and have a WLSS-approved life jacket (PFD). Students will sail in JY 15s, Optimist Prams and Butterflies based on skill and experience level. Our experienced, certified instructors teach in conjunction with a program that has been running on White Lake for over 90 years.
Classes will begin the week of June 19th and run through August 10th. Beginners, intermediate, advanced and racing classes are offered during this time. There are a variety of programs to choose from.
Come out and join us in one of the oldest recreational sports and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of White Lake. Session enrollment is limited so register early!
