Intermediate Sailing

Level 1
In the Intermediate Sailing – Level  1 program, students will learn about etiquette and sportsmanship, understanding wind, use of sail controls, sailing terminology, and leaving a dock/beach.

Level 2
In the Intermediate Sailing – Level  2 program, students will learn about sailing backward, proper use of tiller extension, starting, stopping and speed control, and safety position/hove to getting out of irons.

Ages 8-15 (divided by age & skill)

Pre-Reqs: Intro to Sailing Level 1 & 2 • Swim Test

Watercraft: Opti & Butterfly

$175 per session

Scheduled Weekly, Mon-Thurs, 10 am – 12:30 pm

  • Session 1: June 19-22
  • Session 2: June 26-29
  • Session 3: July 3-7 (Modified Session M,W, Th, F – No Tues classes)
  • Session 4: July 10-13
  • Session 5: July 17-20
  • Session 6: July 24-27 
  • July 31-Aug 4: No regular sessions due to Western’s Regatta @ Crystal Lake YC
  • Session 7: Aug 7-10
  • Session 8: Aug 14-17 (Make-Up Only)
